Established in 1982, SMBC Boys is one of the oldest and most successful boys volleyball clubs in the country.
We have earned 34 medals - and counting - at Junior Nationals over the years, including those below.
SMBC Islands Volleyball Club is based in Camarillo, CA. With its own exclusive, spacious two-court hardwood indoor facility located in the heart of the Camarillo outlets, SMBC Islands has been growing the game of volleyball in its area and offering exceptional travel team and non-travel programs to help serve the needs of the Camarillo and greater Ventura County volleyball community. We strive to train our athletes to become the best volleyball players they can be -- dedicated, hard-working, passionate, disciplined -- as well as excellent teammates and respectful young men.
SMBC Islands fields two to five boys club volleyball teams each season. There are five primary age divisions at SMBC Islands: 18's (seniors), 17's (juniors), 16's (sophomores), 15's (freshmen), and 14's (8th graders). The grades listed are most common for that age division. Most often, seventh graders also play in the 14's division. Periodically, if there are enough athletes, we will put together a 13's team (seventh graders only) or a 12's team (5th/6th graders).
The Director for SMBC Islands is long-time Ventura County volleyball coaching fixture Kim Machnic. Kim has coached multiple levels of youth and juniors club and high school volleyball, and was prior to joining SMBC the Founding Director of Blue Crush.
