- LAVA WEST HIGHLIGHTS -
Every club says they are "the premier club" of their area. It is one thing to say it -- it is another thing entirely to back it up over multiple seasons of on-court performance across multiple age divisions. LAVA West is the premier club of Ventura County. In fact, over the past few seasons it has proven the most successful indoor club in the history of Ventura County.
2021/2022 ... Lava West saw explosive growth, fielding twenty-one teams across eight age divisions (11's-18's). We continued our winning ways, with four medals earned in national competition (Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Bronze), four teams qualified into the PVL, three teams earning qualification bids to Junior Nationals, multiple Top 5 finishes, and even more Top 10 finishes. Highlights include 14 Adidas taking the Bronze Medal at Junior Nationals (after taking Gold at Red Rock JNQ), 12 Adidas taking Silver at the SCVA Bid Event, and 17 Adidas earning Bronze at the Red Rock JNQ. We also had 16 Adidas take 4th, 15 Adidas take 5th, and 13 Adidas take 7th at the Pacific NW JNQ. Multiple Lava West teams also competed in the Gold Divisions of the SCVA. It was another stellar year for Lava West, in which we thoroughly outperformed our local competition.
2020/2021 ... Lava West jumped right back to its successful ways during the challenging club season of 2020-2021. It was challenging for all in the midst of the pandemic, but Lava West earned rave reviews for its handling of the pandemic and we are immensely proud of our success in keeping our athletes, coaches, parents, and the community safe. On court, five Lava West teams qualified for the inaugural season of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), the elite-level regional power league, easily the most of any club in Ventura County. The club won three medals in national tournament competition (Silver, Bronze, and Bronze) and three teams (18 Adidas, 16 Adidas, and 11 Adidas) earned qualification bids to Junior Nationals. We also had multiple Top 10 finishes at national tournaments, with highlights including 17 Adidas finishing 4th at the Pacific Northwest JNQ in Spokane, 16 Adidas taking 7th at the President's Day PVL Classic, and 15 Adidas finishing 10th at the Lonestar Classic in Houston. It cannot be overstated how tremendous an achievement the on-court performances of our teams were this season, nor how dominant our Lava West teams were as compared to the rest of Conejo Valley and greater Ventura County.
2019/2020 ... In a pandemic-shortened season, there was minimal tournament play to allow West teams to earn accolades. At the Las Vegas Classic over President's Day weekend, our 17 Adidas, 16 Adidas, and 15 Adidas teams all finished in the upper half of teams in Open Division play, highlighted by the 17's finishing Top 12 in Open Elite. All LAVA West Adidas teams were competing in the Gold Divisions of the SCVA (Top 64), highlighted by 13 Adidas earning their way into Division One. 15 Adidas and 17 Adidas played their way into Division Two.
2018/2019 ... LAVA West 16 Adidas won a Silver Medal at the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships in Indianapolis in July 2019 (16 Patriot). The 18 Adidas team qualified for 18's Junior Nationals (USA) and finished in the Top 12 at that tournament. Three teams played their way into Division One of the SCVA: Lava West 13 Adidas, Lava West 15 Adidas, and Lava West 16 Adidas. 12 Adidas and 17 Adidas played their way into Division Two. Every Adidas team competed in the Gold Bracket (Top 64) of the SCVA Regional League.

Our Lava West 18 Adidas team finished the year ranked #5 overall in the SCVA 18's Division, topped only by our Lava West 16 Adidas team which spent the entire season in Division One for 16's and finished #3 overall.
