SMBC Boys Earn Silver Medals at 2011 Junior Nationals!

The SMBC Boys 18-Black and 14-Black teams both won silver medals at the 2011 Junior National Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota (in the 18 Open and 14 Open Divisions).

Congratulations to 18′s Head Coach Aaron Wong and Assistant Coach Alex Dunphy, 14′s Head Coach Cooper Chavez and Assistant Coach Barry Nua, and to all the players and parents for jobs well done!

This is the first 14 Open Division medal for SMBC Boys and the program’s second medal in the 18 Open Division. The wins mark the seventh straight season a team for SMBC Boys has brought home a medal, a feat unmatched by any other club in the country over that period.

Kudos also to 18-Black for winning the SCVA Regional Power League, finishing 1st in the overall points standings, as well as the SCVA Boy’s Classic, one of the biggest tournaments of the year for boys club volleyball. In the wake of these awesome accomplishments, the program enters its thirtieth year of existence in 2012, with prospects for continued SMBC Boys success as bright as they’ve ever been!
